This week’s HLINks: 30 – 3 February 2023
Welcome to #JeremyTalks, my overview of what caught my interest this week.
This week, we published a new Housing LIN guest blog by Age Action Alliance's Tony Watts OBE titled, 'Downsizing… rightsizing: great theory, but where’s the product?'. Hear more from Tony when he presents in the opening session at the Housing LIN’s Summit – A Festival of Ideas, week commencing Monday, 27 February 2023.
This week County Councils Network (CCN) and Tunstall Healthcare launched a new report which argues that the potential of technology to support those with social care needs is growing ‘exponentially’ each year. We look forward to also welcoming CCN and Tunstall Healthcare at this year's conference on the morning of Wednesday, 1 March in the session titled, Telecares: Technology and Healthy Ageing at Home.
In other news, our weekly update on the TAPPI project, which aims to improve the way technology is used in housing and care for older people, focuses on a range of upcoming TAPPI-related events to look forward to.
A couple of other things that caught my interest included:
- Regulator of Social Housing's initial findings on damp and mould in social housing (opens new window)
- New Care and Repair Cymru report on the state of older people's housing in Wales.
- The Chartered Institute of Housing Policy & Practice's latest briefing (opens new window) on what you need to know about the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Bill
- Secretary of State for Health and Social Care’s oral statement (opens new window) on the Urgent and Emergency Care Recovery Plan (opens new window)
Lastly, we are always keen to hear stories, receive your good practice case studies and thought leadership. If you would like to contribute, email us at: comms@housinglin.org.uk (opens new window).
Stay connected, stay curious!
