Wendy Mitchell - A lasting memory
We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Wendy Mitchell. Wendy gave everything to campaign on dementia and to live life to the full.
From writing extensively about her experiences of living with dementia to tweeting photographs of the birds in her garden or local sunrise walks, she made a big impression.
No more than when she gave evidence to the APPG on Housing and Care for Older People housing and dementia inquiry, Are we ready? and spoke so positively at the online launch in 2021.
As she wrote in her final blog (opens new window) shortly before she died:
“Adapting to this life with dementia is over, but I don’t consider dementia has won.”
