Description of Scheme

This scheme has been designed for use by adults with learning disabilities and to allow them to live as independently as possible. It includes a communal garden with potting shed and greenhouse to encourage group activities.

Bushey Meadows House by Aldwyck Housing Group has replaced the group's existing supported living scheme, Herne House, and will initially provide seven supported living flats. The second stage is the construction of 11 two and three bedroom houses for shared ownership and market sale.

Where Is It?

This scheme is located within the town of Bushey in the Hertsmere Borough of Hertfordshire. The surrounding neighbourhood is characterised by its established urban centre with a mixture of development styles.

Proximity

Development is located within a well established area. Local amenities are plentiful with shops being within walking distance. There is a bus stop located just outside the site entrance allowing for easy access to the local area.

Relevant Local Strategy

This scheme is designed for adults with learning disabilities rather than the elderly. Hertfordshire County Council have been heavily involved in the planning process and execution of the development.
