Your Homes Newcastle
We work with Your Homes Newcastle who manages council homes on behalf of Newcastle City Council. YHN has a service called Ostara who delivers the Community Care Alarm and Response Services. This is where the Tynetec Telecare equipment is installed and supplied from and the connections to the 24hr Call Centre are held within the YHN building, where the Jontek Call Monitoring Platform is utilised.

Your Homes Newcastle uses our comprehensive range of Reach Digital At-Home Alarm Units which have been designed to work over both digital and analogue infrastructures, with the ability to offer any individual a secure and critical connection to a response service in the event that they require assistance.
Digital Telecare peripherals can then wirelessly connect to our range of Reach Digital At-Home Alarm Units in order to expand its capabilities and provide tailored solutions to an individual's needs. Our range of Digital Telecare devices allow a user to make an emergency call for help, or make the call for them when the device recognises a persons need for assistance.

A life saving intervention

We were made aware of a case in Newcastle, where a Service User with one of our Tynetec Telecare pendants had fallen, the pendant was activated, and the call was taken in the Newcastle contact centre via the Jontek Call Monitoring Platform.
The call handler dealt with the clients needs superbly. Not only did she take down the facts of what she was being told but also acted upon instinct that there was something else wrong that the client was not able to tell her. She not only dialled 999 to get an Ambulance to the client but she also requested a mobile team to attend the service user so that a complete picture of what had happened could be taken into account.
The mobile team were the first to reach the client and it was at this point the full extent of the incident could be seen. The way the client had fallen against a door, had resulted in them hooking their shirt collar on the door handle and they could not free themselves. This meant that the clients air supply was being restricted. As the ambulance was delayed the quick response of the mobile team to assist the client and the call handler acting upon instinct and reading between the lines resulted in this team saving the clients life.
Had it not been for this service where the client wore a Tynetec pendant to send a distress call and the service provider was using our Jontek platform, the circumstances of this call could have had a very different outcome.
