At crossroads: Building foundations for healthy communities

This new report published by APSE, researched and written by the TCPA, calls on Government to put public health at the heart of housing delivery; empowering local decision-makers to create healthy and high-quality places. Drawing on a selection of case studies (including Marmalade Lane in Cambridge) and expert testimonies, the report’s recommendations include:
- Giving local authorities a central role in developing the forthcoming reforms to the planning system and better coordination between public health and planning
- Providing more support and grant funding to local planning authorities (LPAs) wishing to directly deliver social housing, creating healthy communities and place-making
