Building the right home - transforming care for people with a learning disability, autism or both
Jointly by NHS England, the LGA and ADASS, this new housing guidance supports NHS and local authority commissioners to expand the housing options available for this group of people who form part of the Transforming Care Programme.
The guidance will support deliver the government's ambition to see more people with a learning disability, autism or both, get the right support and live in their own home.
This is set out in 'Building the Right Support: A national plan to develop community services and close inpatient facilities for people with a learning disability and/or autism who display behaviour that challenges, including those with a mental health condition' (see listing on this page below).
The Housing LIN is pleased to share its experience and insights working with NHS England and several local Transforming Care Partnerships to help develop their strategic housing partnerships and operational plans.
