Downsizing and rehousing schemes – how well do they work for older social housing tenants?
This NIHR School for Social Care Research funded research project led by the Universities of Cambridge and Sheffield focused on two rehousing programmes run by Hackney Council - Downsizing and Regeneration.
It was interested in the experiences of older (aged 55+ years) social housing tenants of these programmes. The research aimed to show how well the Downsizing and Regeneration programmes work for older social housing tenants, what improvements can be made and whether rehousing under these programmes leads to health and wellbeing benefits, and addresses inequalities.
