Local Area Agreements: maximising the potential for housing for older people

This Housing LIN Briefing No14 is designed to promote the inclusion of older peoples housing needs within Local Area Agreements. It sets out the policy background and goes on to summarise several case studies where local authorities have worked with partners to prioritise older peoples needs.

The Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Bill places a legal duty of partnership upon Councils and PCTs to co-operate. At the heart of the policy is a clear affirmation of the role for local government as a 'place shaper' and strategic leader for economic and the strategic responses to changing population needs.
