Manifesto for Dementia Carers
Arguing why dementia care should be an important priority for policy makers, this manifesto from Dementia Carers Count sets out what carers have said would make a difference to them as well as the charity's recommendations for policy changes.
Based on seven key points, the document sets out what changes to health and social care would make the most difference to dementia carers now and in the future, based on what carers themselves have stated that they want.
Using findings from their research conducted in 2023, Dementia Carers Count argue for an ambitious and sustainable approach to dementia care so that all family carers should receive tailored support, wherever they live, for as long as they need it, and call for the implementation of a dementia carer’s strategy in each of the nations across the UK.
