Healthy Homes in the East of England

This report from East of England LGA (EELGA) is a self-improvement tool for Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) to help enhance collaboration between housing and health sectors to improve health outcomes.

Produced by EELGA, IMPOWER Consulting and Public Health East of England, the report highlights the key link between housing and health and focuses on the root causes of poor health. The authors set out five Guiding Principles, based on the analysis of what works now and what will be needed to overcome the barriers to strategic collaboration at scale.

Shifting from treatment to prevention is one of the three major shifts the new government wants to achieve and is a key priority for local government in the East of England and the report makes a four-point call to action to ICS leaders to shift to preventative programmes that improve living conditions and reduce health inequalities across the region.

The report also links to useful resources, including the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services in the East of England's two Housing top tips guides hosted by the Housing LIN.
