Community-led housing for all: Opportunities and challenges for black and minority ethnic community-led housing
This report considers the benefits of community-led housing to black and minority ethnic communities involved in the sector, explores why they are under-represented in the leadership and management of projects, and makes recommendations aimed at widening and diversifying access to community-led housing.
Produced by a partnership including Leeds Community Homes and Pathway Housing Solutions alongside Liverpool and Sheffield Hallam Universities, it highlights significant opportunities to diversify leadership and participation of community-led housing initiatives and makes recommendations to enhance the inclusion and contribution of black and minority ethnic communities to the community-led housing sector.
It makes a series of recommendations for community-led housing infrastructure bodies, community-led housing funders, Central Government, Local and Combined Authorities as well as housing infrastructure bodies.
