HLINks: Keeping you updated about Covid-19, new practice briefings and sector news
This week we have spent much of our time tracking the latest coronavirus guidance and practice relevant to our sector, and uploading new resources on our dedicated Coronavirus Info Hub.
We also published Housing LIN Viewpoint 100, looking at almshouses for the 21st century.
The Housing LIN will continue working and keeping our members updated on any aspect of the ongoing outbreak which affects our sector. You can also read our Business Continuity statement.
Stay well and be safe. And remember please clap for all carers.
Housing LIN Coronavirus Info Hub
Coronavirus Info Hub
As we reported in last week’s HLINks, we have created a Coronavirus Info Hub, where we have uploaded guidance and documents relevant to the specialist housing and housing with care sectors.
In three sections the Hub provides links to Housing LIN practice briefings (see below), national government guidelines, and other useful information for our sector, so that you can keep up to date with this rapidly changing situation and take appropriate measures.
If you have any queries about COVID-19, or good practice tips, please add them to our Discussion Forum or Health Exchange.

Housing LIN Viewpoint
Almshouses for the 21st Century
Almshouses for the 21st century: transformation in progress is the latest Viewpoint from the Housing LIN.
This Viewpoint (our 100th!) looks at the role that almshouses, the oldest form of community-led housing, can play in providing alternative forms of housing for older people in the 21st century.
As well as examining what benefits almshouses can provide to their local communities, the Viewpoint also includes three case studies looking at modern examples of almshouses.

Events
Forthcoming Events
In light of the coronavirus outbreak we have cancelled all our upcoming regional meetings and training courses until further notice.
We are currently exploring whether it will be possible for these events to be held online, so watch this space!
If you have already booked a place on one of these events, we will contact you directly via email.
Next Week
Next week we have several new resources coming out. These include a blog by the Housing LIN’s Jeremy Porteus on adapting the ‘care ready’ HAPPI design principles so that, in the light of COVID-19, they also accommodate ‘work readiness’ for increasing demands of home working.
And, with thanks to The Mercers’ Charitable Foundation, we are also very pleased to bring our timely new webpages on combatting loneliness and reducing social isolation.
With Thanks
The Housing LIN would like to thank Willmott Dixon for their support in producing this newsletter. Stay well, stay connected and be safe!
