This is where you can take a tour of relevant resources and events on later life housing and independent living with regard to homes and communities, health and social care, design and technology, dementia, planning matters and more.

For example, this week, we published a joint Housing LIN guest blog by Matter Architecture's Roland Karthaus and United for All Ages' Stephen Burke on places of social and economic exchange. This is ahead of next week’s extended HAPPI Hour session on Intergenerational Living on Tuesday, 19 October 2021.

And if you missed it, you can now access the recording and slides from this week's HAPPI Hour 'From Passivhaus to Active Ageing'. We are delighted to have received such excellent feedback:

  • Informative and super useful. Covering different angles to an important and complex subject.
  • A great format to pick and choose from some really well presented informative content.

We also highlight a range of items that we think will be of interest to you, including:

Future Leaders Network: Housing LIN opens call for applications

thirteen group logo

With thanks to Thirteen Group’s support, we want the new network to be a small, diverse and dynamic community of younger, early career individuals.

We are now looking for up to 10 committed people with an interest in housing for an ageing population to be part of our second intake.

This is a fantastic and valuable opportunity for successful applicants to learn through the lived experience of a selection of industry leaders about what/who inspired or influenced them and what qualities they looked out for to enable them to then develop their own leadership styles and credentials.

Applications close on Friday 5th November 2021 at 5pm.

NHSX, a joint unit of the Department of Health & Social Care and NHS England & Improvement with a focus on digital development, are reporting on the readiness of England’s telecare services ahead of the telephone network moving to digital.

The NHSX digital shift survey has had a reasonable response from both telecare providers and suppliers – but it would be great to get in some further responses during the final week.

This work is supported by the Local Government Association, the Association of Adult Directors of Social Services and the Technology Enabled Care Services Association. Findings will inform NHSX awareness guidance in the new year.
