HLINks - Housing LIN's weekly update at your fingertips

Welcome to #Jeremytalks and our must-read weekly bulletin, HLINks, week-ending Friday, 11 February 2022.

This week saw the publication of the government’s Integration White Paper, Joining up care for people, place and populations. We’re pleased to see the emphasis on place and references to housing and know it’s not just about ‘vertical’ integration within the NHS but also ‘horizontal’ integration across wider housing and care economies to get better outcomes for local populations.

At the start of 2021, Central & Cecil (C&C) published findings of research by over 200 C&C residents to seek their attitudes towards isolation and loneliness. A year on, we are pleased to promote a new report and accompanied blog by their Managing Director, Julia Ashley who returns to find out if residents have become ‘used’ to the presence of Coivd-19.

We also published a guest blog earlier this week by Orbit’s Francis Burrows who reflects on the impact of the pandemic on their residents living in their older people's housing properties. Francis will also be speaking at our next HAPPI Hour, Levelling up our communities: calling for a post-covid vision for housing, care and support on Tuesday, 22 February.

And, if you missed this week's HAPPI Hour, the recording and slides from the webinar with NASP and HACT on social prescribing are now available. Over 270 people registered for the session to hear about the work of NASP and listen to variety of personal and community perspectives on social prescription and housing. A big thank you to the speakers from Stonewater, Bromford, We Build the Future and Manchester University.
