Welcome to #Jeremytalks and our must-read weekly bulletin, HLINks, week-ending Friday, 25 March 2022
On Tuesday, we held a really stimulating HAPPI Hour session. We were inspired by Central and Cecil’s (C&C) Managing Director, Julia Ashley and Aster's Chief Strategy Officer, Dawn Fowler-Stevens, who shared their insights and learning on forging a new partnership to transform housing and care-tech choices. You can watch the recording and view the slides here.
We also published a guest blog for the Housing LIN by Dr Sheila Peace, Emeritus Professor at The Open University and a past president of the British Society of Gerontology, about her new book and her thoughts on the meaning of home in older age.
Other news that caught my interest this week, includes:
- Centre for Ageing Better report: Leeds Neighbourhood Network evaluation - Phase two
- Nationwide Building Society report: Future of Home
- Foundations tool: Adaptations Triage Tool
- New Almshouse research: The Dunhill Medical Trust awards funding to ARC for the Future

Spring boosters for residents of care homes for older adults
A letter from Claire Armstrong, Director of Adult Social Care Delivery and Covid-19 Response, details the rollout of spring boosters for residents of care homes for older adults.
The letter states that the primary aim of the COVID-19 Vaccination programme is to reduce the risk of serious illness from the virus, particularly among those who are most vulnerable to severe disease. Therefore, in accordance with the latest independent advice from the JCVI, only the most vulnerable groups will be called forward this time for a spring booster vaccination.
