HLINks - Housing LIN's weekly update at your fingertips
Don’t be fooled, it has been a full on week of comms for the Housing LIN!
Friday, 1 April 2022
Welcome to #Jeremytalks and our must-read weekly bulletin, HLINks, week-ending Friday, 1 April 2022
In this week's HLINks, we report on two new fantastic The Dunhill Medical Trust (DMT) funded projects that hit the Housing LIN headlines.
The first is the formal launch of TAPPI2 at the ITEC conference in Birmingham this week. Following the DMT's recent announcements that they are seeking a Co-production and Engagement Partner and an Evaluation and Share Learning Partner, the next phase of TAPPI involves four demonstrator sites implementing the findings and 10 foundational principles from last year's TAPPI Inquiry. The Housing LIN is delighted to be responsible for hosting the TAPPI2 microsite and curating content as phase 2 develops.
The second item is the new Amar Bari, Amar Jibon research project with The Open University and Bangla Housing Association. Meaning ‘My Home, My Life’, the project was launched on Saturday to coincide with Bangladesh Independence Day. The Housing LIN is proud to be a knowledge partner in this 30-month project into the housing needs of the older ('probin') Bangladeshi community in Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets
On Monday, the government also published its new guidance on Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) delivery. The DFG guidance will help local authorities to meet their responsibilities, including legal duties, and tailor local delivery to support their communities and the individual needs of disabled people, their family and carers.
And in other news that caught my interest, we signpost to:
- TCPA’s Healthy Homes campaign: Parliamentary amendment secured
- New DLUHC funding: New £4m fund gives communities power to deliver affordable homes
- A DLUHC call for resident members: Social Housing Quality Resident Panel (includes residents of sheltered housing)
- New Department of Health and Social Care guidance: Market Sustainability and Fair Cost of Care Fund 2022 to 2023
- A Phoenix Group Insight report: The Longer Lives Index
- A University of Northumbria Hoarding study summary, ‘To make it easier to live, you know?’
- And lastly, it was #AutismAcceptanceWeek and Progress Housing released a new video called 'Meet Josh'
