National Co-Production Week

4th – 9th July 2022

It’s National Co-production Week, and to celebrate the Housing LIN would like to draw attention to the benefits of co-production as an approach that offers the chance to transform housing, health and social care provision to a model that offers people real choice and control.

OVERVIEW

Hosted by the social care institute for excellence (SCIE), Co-production Week celebrates the benefits of co-production, shares good practice and promotes the contribution of people who use services and carers in developing better public services.

Co-production is about working in equal partnership with people using services, carers, families and citizens. Co-production offers the chance to transform housing, social care and health provision to a model that offers people real choice and control.

Drawing attention to a range of resources, tools and examples of good practice that demonstrates the impact of co-production in the housing, health and social care sector, we’re pleased to promote the Housing LIN’s Co-production and community approaches webpage that provides information for commissioners, providers, community leaders and individuals on the benefits and challenges of personalisation, community-based responses and co-production approaches.

The CollaborAGE Directory

CollaborAGE ealert

The Housing LIN has long championed a variety of community-led approaches to housing for an ageing population. In line with this, we have published a range of useful materials to raise awareness and showcase latest practice.

There are many initiatives which illustrate the value of facilitating community development, co-production and user-led provision. We have captured these in an the CollaborAGE Directory which seeks to enhance understanding and inspire local groups to coproduce innovative approaches to determine what might work in their community.

Technology for an Ageing Population: Panel of Innovation (TAPPI)

Following last year’s TAPPI Inquiry report, Phase 2: from Principles to Implementation has officially commenced in partnership with the TEC Services Association and funded by The Dunhill Medical Trust.

Co-production is one of TAPPI’s key principles which is why we have recruited an organisation with proven experience of co-production and engagement with people who draw on services within the housing and technology-enabled care sector.

We will be announcing the successful applicant on Tuesday, 5 July 2022, to coincide with HAPPI Hour webinar in association with Tunstall Healthcare on Technology enabled care and housing at 4pm.
