Welcome to #JeremyTalks, my overview of what caught my interest this week.

We are thrilled with the level of interest in our Summit - A Festival of Ideas commencing Monday, 27 February. Such has been the demand for the 10 FREE sessions we are now opening each session to a minimum of 300 participants! Register now or share with colleagues before registrations close 12 hours before the start of each session.

This week, we were pleased to release a new Housing LIN case study (No165) on a new extra care scheme in Preston. Written by Levitt Bernstein architects, it describes their work for Community Gateway Association and how they collaborated with the local community in the development of The Courtyards. Co-designed to the HAPPI principles it was shortlisted in last year's Housing Design Awards.

Written for the Housing LIN by David Magill, Associate at Levitt Bernstein, this case study explores 'The Courtyards', an extra care housing scheme in Ingol, Preston, which was recently shortlisted in the HAPPI category of the Housing Design Awards.

Before starting design work, Levitt Bernstein sat down with Community Gateway Association’s resident board to understand what they really valued in where they would like to live – in other words, what would make a place a home.

Tunstall field service apprentices accept full time roles

Tunstall Healthcare is celebrating after five members of its first ever field services apprenticeship cohort have accepted full time roles with the firm.

The new programme was set up to offer specialist training in the maintenance and repair of technology enabled care systems and associated systems, such as access control and emergency lighting, investing in the next generation of the workforce.

New Housing Minister appointed – Rachel Maclean MP

Following this week’s Cabinet reshuffle and the promotion of Lucy Frazer MP to the post of Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Rachel Maclean MP has become the new Housing Minister in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

"The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Dementia's latest inquiry, launched today, is investigating the barriers people may face in getting a dementia diagnosis, with a particular focus on regional barriers such as rurality and deprivation. They are looking for evidence from people living with dementia, carers, professionals, academics and other health and social care stakeholders."
