This week, we published two new guest blogs. The first is written by Steve Sadler, Head of Technology Strategy at the TSA, where he discusses some of the major topics that emerged from the TAPPI workshops. The second blog is by Gavin Bashar, UK Managing Director at Tunstall Healthcare, and highlights the significance of educating the next generation of housing professionals about the advantages of technology.

We were also delighted to host a HAPPI Hour in association with Learning Disability England and the University of York for the official launch of research on supporting people with learning disabilities to rent their own homes. Yesterday's HAPPI Hour webinar saw the official launch of research on supporting people with learning disabilities to rent their own homes

The project, funded by the National Institute for Health Research, School for Social Care Research, is a collaboration between researchers at the universities of York & Bristol; housing provider RiversideLearning Disability England; doodler and community printmaker, Stephen Lee Hodgkins; and, the Housing LIN.

LSE Housing and Communities, a research group based at the London School of Economics, has been asked by Habinteg Housing Association to undertake research into the social value of wheelchair user homes. They are looking to interview people both living in a wheelchair user home, or living in a property that is not suitable for your needs. You can own your home or rent socially or privately.

New report: Investigation into supported housing

In response to a report published by the National Audit Office on an investigation into supported housing, Ian Copeman, Business Director, Housing LIN said:

"We welcome the NAO’s report; the evidence presented confirms the current position and issues in the supported housing sector. We look forward to continuing to work with policy makers, commissioners and housing & support providers in relation to the commissioning and proposed regulation of supported housing."
