Embracing Diversity and Inclusivity: Celebrating a Year of the ISPA Project
Last week marked the 1st year anniversary of the ISPA project, an ambitious 5-year participatory mixed-method study that explores and understands how the stigma attached to where people live can intersect with experiences of disability and ageing.
This One Year Review and accompanied blog by Vikki McCall, Professor of Social Policy at the University of Stirling, offers a comprehensive look into the project's objectives and its commitment to fostering inclusivity and highlights the ISPA network and its dedicated team.
'A constant struggle' - The impact of high household costs on older people facing financial hardship
In a new report, Independent Age reveals the often-hidden experiences of many older people on a low income and shares policy recommendations that encourage the Government and other stakeholders to act to reduce the pressure on pensioners on a low income.

Putting People at the Heart of Care and Support: Emerging Approaches on Co-Production
This report for East of England ADASS developed by the Putting People at the Heart of Care and Support working group captures emerging practice from a selection of co-production approaches in adult social care from across the region.
The 27 examples featured in the report include two of which have a housing focus.

The Research Launch on Housing for People with Learning Disabilities
We were delighted to welcome so many old and news faces at last week's Oxford launch of the Renting Your Own Place research with Learning Disability England, University of Bristol, My Life My Choice and York People First.
The event, co-chaired by Lois Beech at Housing LIN and Paul Scarrott at My Life My Choice, featured a lineup of insightful and inspirational speakers discussing housing for people with learning disabilities.
Work with IMPACT in 2024-25
Impact Improving Care Together (IMPACT) are looking for organisations that will work with them in 2024-2025. These organisations will host one of their IMPACT Demonstrator or Facilitator projects, or take part in one of their IMPACT Networks.
Applications close on Thursday 30 November.
The rights of older people inquiry opened
The Women and Equalities Select Committee has opened an inquiry that will examine how well older people's rights are protected under Equality Law and whether there is an adequate framework to champion older people's rights.
The deadline for submission is 31 October 2023.

New Inspirational Achievement reimagines the almshouse concept for modern, inner-city living
To celebrate International Day of Older Persons, we’re pleased to share our newest Inspirational Achievement in collaboration with the United St. Saviours Charity.
Appleby Blue, a newly developed social housing project which reimages the almhouse concept of modern inner-city living, comprises of 57 homes for residents 65 or over in Southwark.
