TEC Action Alliance attends exclusive event at the House of Lords

The Amar Bari project reaches out to professional stakeholders
The Amar Bari project team, funded by The Dunhill Medical Trust, was delighted to host an inaugural Zoom meeting last week with around 20 professionals and policymakers with a keen interest in housing, ageing, planning, design, and related fields to consider current and future plans for the ‘probin’ community within the London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Newham, Hackney and Redbridge and beyond.

One hundred not out: a route map for long lives
The International Longevity Centre (ILC) has published a route map for long lives that identifies the next steps for UK policymakers – aligned with expert consensus and current policy direction – to make the most of longevity, by exploring policies that affect us all, throughout our lives.
How digital ready is your organisation?
The first step in introducing digital technology into your organisation is assessing where you are now and how you can introduce digital technology into your workplace processes and practices. This online tool by Skills for Care can help you to to measure your digital readiness.
State of Ageing 2023
This year’s State of Ageing report by Centre for Ageing Better paints a detailed picture of the older population and homes in England, using data from a variety of sources, including Census 2021. They have also spoken to older people about their lives and seen their analysis of the data reflected in their experiences of ageing.
Accessibility and adaptations included in new National Trading Standards best practice guidance for property listings
The National Trading Standards Estate and Letting Agency Team (NTSELAT) have provided updated guidance to agents and landlords to improve material information in property listings. This now includes new advice on providing details about a property's accessibility and adaptations; a listing should include, if relevant, an accurate description or statement of any known property adaptations or accessibility features.

Serious Games for Serious Issues
The latest blog in the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evdience's Housing and Home Improvement series focuses on their use of an innovative method – a form of ‘serious game’ – developed at the University of Stirling in partnership with Housing LIN.
In conversation with Dr Vikki McCall, they explore how this approach to data gathering can be an important methodological tool to understand real-world decision-making and prioritisation.

Events supported by the Housing LIN
North Yorkshire County Council and City of York Council are carrying out a housing needs assessment to understand what housing needs local people have. In collaboration with Learning Disability England, they will be running a series of online and in person sessions for you to share your views:
- Autistic people only session (online): 13th December 5-7pm
- Open session (online) :14th December 10am-12noon
- Family session (online): 16th January at 6pm
- Open Session (in person in York): 18th January 9:30am-12 noon
