Before we dive into this week's newsletter, we wanted to invite you to tomorrow's HAPPI Hour webinar 'Housing - Still Rising to the Dementia Challenge'.
Led by the Dementia & Housing Working Group (DHWG) as part of their quarterly series focused on housing and dementia, tomorrow's session will address interior and external design in housing for people with dementia, providing easy and actionable guidance to help organisations gather insights and implement them effectively.
You'll also gain insights into the Older People's Housing Taskforce and the DHWG with updates from Jeremy Porteus, CEO at Housing LIN and Vanessa Pritchard-Wilkes, DHWG Chair and Head of Strategic Operations at Housing 21.

Co-production week highlights collaborative efforts in housing solutions
Hosted by the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), last week marked Co-Production Week, an opportunity for the housing for older people sector to encourage collaboration between residents, housing providers and community stakeholders to design and implement housing solutions that truly meet the needs of older adults.
We shared a new blog on getting started with co-production, highlighted the co-production outcomes from the Technology for an Ageing Population: Panel of Innovation (TAPPI) project, and drew attention to our CollaborAGE online directory.
The Housing LIN South West Leadership Set discuss the HAA manifesto
Ahead of the general election, Anchor’s Mario Ambrosi, chair of the Housing and Ageing Alliance (HAA), presented the HAA’s Housing for Older People manifesto at last week's Housing LIN South West Leadership Set meeting.
Carers UK's Caring Survey - Have Your Say!
The Carers UK annual State of Caring survey is the most extensive survey into unpaid carers’ experiences in the UK.
This year, there is a specific section on housing in the survey. Have your say by 11 August 2024!

New book reimagines age-friendly communities
Policy Press have published an open access, digital book which provides a collection of useful chapters written by different contributors from the Manchester Urban Ageing Research Group exploring various aspects of urban ageing and spatial justice.
Consultation on the Shared Ownership Council’s draft Code of Good Practice
The Shared Ownership Council (SOC) has opened a consumer and industry consultation on its draft Code of Good Practice.
While not centred around the specialist and supported housing sector, SOC are nonetheless seeking views on a code to improve consumer experience of shared ownership, irrespective of their location or type of property they live in.
The consultation will be open until September.
