Housing LIN Scotland presents... Showcasing innovation and good practice
The recording of our recent HAPPI Hour celebrating the International Day for Older Persons is now available!
This event highlighted innovative policies and practices in Scotland aimed at creating accessible homes for an ageing population. Topics included designing accessible housing, co-designing home improvements, age-friendly environments, and using technology to support independence.
The Inclusive Housing Design Guide
The Inclusive Housing Design Guide is a revised and updated edition of the seminal Habinteg Housing Design Guide first published in 2002. The guide provides a brief and advice for all those involved in the design and delivery of Habinteg developments, informing new build technical standards and employers' requirements for accessible homes.

With support from St Monica Trust, our South West Leadership Set convened last week in Bristol. We were joined by Tom Surrey, Director of Adult Social Care Workforce and Policy, for a productive discussion.
New Commissioner sets out her vision as the independent voice and champion for older people across Wales
The new Older People’s Commissioner for Wales, Rhian Bowen-Davies, has set out her vision for a Wales that leads the way in empowering older people, tackling inequality and enabling everyone to live and age well.
Housing and Falls Prevention in 2024
During Falls Prevention Week (23-27 September), the Centre for Ageing Better shared two blogs. One highlighted a Building Research Establishment analysis, estimating that reducing home accidents could save the NHS £330 million annually. The other, by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, focused on their falls prevention initiative with Trent & Dove Housing.
