Recording Available: Regenerating outdated sheltered housing: Lessons from the APPG Inquiry
Following the release of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Housing and Care for Older People's Inquiry report, sponsored by Abbeyfield, we were pleased to celebrate our 100th HAPPI Hour webinar, taking a deep dive into the Regeneration of Outdated Sheltered Housing (Re-HAPPI).
Chaired by Lord Best (APPG Inquiry Chair), this milestone session explored the key findings and recommendations from the report and examined how the sector is responding.
Cannock Mill Cohousing in Colchester wins award
While the Elizabeth Line has won this year’s RIBA Stirling Prize, our attention last week was on the first-ever Healthy City Design Awards.

A new publication from the Town and Country Planning Association offers a practical guide for local authorities on embedding health in local plans and planning policy in England.
Developed in collaboration with the TRUUD research programme, it provides useful information on the policy context, examples of local authority approaches and a framework for implementation.
A framework for achieving excellence in mental health discharge
The LGA/ADASS have issued a practical online resource on mental health discharge, which draws on extensive engagement with front line teams, statutory guidance and operational models that are working well across the country.
From inpatient treatment to community support, the lack of suitable accommodation is recognised as critical to discharge planning.
Appello Releases Groundbreaking Monthly Report on Telecare First Time Call Failures
Appello, the UK’s largest telecare monitoring centre, last week announced the launch of a new monthly report revealing exclusive data on First Time Call Failures (FTCFs) in telecare across the UK.
This is the first time such comprehensive data has been made available to the industry, providing crucial insights into the prevalence and impact of FTCFs.
Ageing Well in South Ayrshire - the ‘Serious Game’
Earlier this year, the ‘Serious Game’ research report, funded by the Dunhill Medical Trust, aimed at bringing together a local housing partnership to support local plans for housing for older adults.
Now, the serious game 'Hopetown' was featured in the Ageing Well in South Ayrshire Strategy and Action Plan video! Check out the fantastic work and direction being taken by South Ayrshire.
