HLINks Weekly: Housing, Health, and Social Care Latest News

4 November 2024

Before we dive into this week's newsletter, we’re excited to invite you to our Annual Symposium on Tuesday 12th November 2024, from 3pm to 5pm, hosted by the Housing LIN Cymru Steering Group. This year, we will explore the findings of the recent All-Party Parliamentary Group on Housing and Care for Older People report focusing on the Regeneration of Outdated Sheltered Housing.

Our expert panel will discuss innovative strategies for modernising housing for older adults in Wales, with insights drawn from real case studies. We also look forward to launching our regenerating sheltered housing animation.

Chaired by Jeremy Porteus (Housing LIN) and Joanne Kirrane (Melin Homes), we will be joined by a fantastic lineup of speakers including Lord Best, Victoria Lloyd (Chief Executive, Age Cymru) and representatives from various housing organisations.

This is a unique opportunity to engage with thought leaders and practitioners dedicated to transforming the landscape of sheltered housing in Wales.

🔗 Don't miss out—register now and be part of the conversation!

Thank you for being a part of our community. We hope you find this week's HLINks newsletter both informative and engaging. Stay tuned for more updates in the weeks to come!

Best wishes,

Last week's HAPPI Hour webinar, kindly supported by Trusted Assessing and Care Training, explored the significance of the Trusted Assessor process and its alignment with decision-making on adaptations to achieve optimal outcomes at personal, environmental, and service levels.

The discussion highlighted examples of services and teams inspired by the reallocation of roles in equipment and adaptation assessments, as envisioned in the 2019 Royal College of Occupational Therapists report, Adaptations Without Delay, produced by Housing LIN.
