HLINks: Future Leaders, new blogs, new resources, and more.

This week we introduced our new Future Leaders programme. We feature this programme in this week's HLINks, alongside two new blogs, our new resources, and our usual roundup of news from the specialised housing and housing with care sectors.

Housing LIN Announcement

Future Leaders

The Housing LIN is very pleased to announce our new Future Leaders network, a collaborative and dynamic community of early career individuals.

The free network is fostered by a programme of events that provide the opportunity to meet key industry leaders, and to produce and present a cooperative project at the 2020 Annual Housing LIN Conference in March.

We are looking for up to 12 committed people to be part of our first intake. So, if you are passionate about the challenges and opportunities posed in the creation of housing and care for an ageing population, and for people with disabilities and mobility impairments of all ages, then follow the link below to find out more.

New Blogs

The Innovative Path to Wellbeing

In this blog Sonia Parol, of Urban Edge Architects, argues that designers should look to create positive opportunities to improve the health and wellbeing of older people.

"We should encourage the residents of senior-living developments towards positive behaviours by providing a range of opportunities to take part in active life in an integrated, wider community setting."

What’s next for the private rented sector in senior living?

Nigel Saunders, director at Pozzoni Architecture discusses how the residential sector’s hottest trend could be set to shake-up the senior living market.

New Resources

Social care: forthcoming Green Paper (England)

Cover Social care: forthcoming Green Paper (England)

This House of Commons Library briefing paper looks at the forthcoming Green Paper on social care for adults.

The Government has said that “housing will be a crucial part of considerations for reform of care and support”, adding “we intend to set out proposals for existing, new, and specialised housing, to ensure people can live in a ‘safe and suitable’ home, for as long as possible”. The former Health and Social Care Secretary said that the Green Paper will have a “significant chapter on housing”.
