Overview
With a growing interest in community-led housing alternatives and a diverse range of lifestyle choices across all ages, we brought our autumn/winter series of HAPPI Hour sessions to a close looking at the scope for ‘Do-it-yourself’ cohousing and what’s happening at a national and local level.
We examine the national policy landscape with the Chief Executive of the UK Co-Housing Network on how the cohousing movement is taking off and what is stimulating interest in this growing sector. We were also joined by speakers from WM-Legacy in Birmingham and WeCanMake in Bristol to explore different examples of community-led approaches to generating a mix of cohousing opportunities in their areas.
Watch as we examine some of the opportunities and pitfalls with an award-winning cohousing scheme, drawing on lessons from both established cohousing communities and those in the pipeline.
For a selection of resources on cohousing, visit the dedicated pages on Cohousing for Older People curated by the Housing LIN.
