With radical changes to the new health care landscape on the horizon for April 2013, it is now more important than ever for housing organisations to demonstrate how they can contribute to the health & wellbeing of individuals & communities. This one day event will provide delegates with information on what levers are available for local housing providers following the care and support white paper.

Programme

The following practical workshops will provide expert guidance on sustaining support services in a challenging economic environment:

  • Commissioning and Procurement of Extra Care Housing - Hear from Peter Rush, Strategic Commissioning Manager, Hampshire County Council what the changes mean for them and what the providers need to do to communicate effectively with commissioners.
  • Health and Wellbeing Boards - Jeanette Longhurst, Health and Social Care Partnership will discuss the new structures for the strategic delivery of Health and Wellbeing
  • Think locak, act personal - personalisation and community based solutions - This workshop will offer a social care perspective and will explore what housing can do to capture health's attention

Question & answer sessions will provide delegates with the opportunity to challenge expert speakers from across the housing & health sector, gaining further insight into issues highlighted throughout the day.

Audience

This one day event is aimed at people who work in supported and specialist housing and will be of interest to scheme manager, support workers, tenants and hostel staff and any professional working in specialist housing areas. It is also for those who are involved in the planning, implementing and delivery of supporting people programmes.
