Agenda
On behalf of the Housing LIN Cymru Steering Group, we were pleased to host our Annual Symposium, focusing on the recent APPG Inquiry Report on the Regeneration of Outdated Sheltered Housing and examples of how its recommendations are being applied in Wales.
With a loss of over 2,500 local authority and housing association managed sheltered housing in Wales since 2011/2012 (down to 25,262 as revealed in the latest Welsh Government data on social housing stock (opens new window)), we take a specific look at the implications of the APPG report on sheltered housing providers in Wales, draw on evidence submitted to the Inquiry by our Welsh members and Steering Group and signpost to other examples showcased in the report.
Key topics include:
- Regenerating Sheltered Housing
- Ageing Well: Staying Connected
- Sustainability in Sheltered Housing
- Tackling Operational Challenges
- Intergenerational Action
- Reducing Health and Housing Inequalities
We were delighted to be joined by the APPG inquiry chair, Lord Best, and AGE Cymru’s CEO, Victoria Lloyd.
To coincide with the Symposium, we were pleased to launch our new animation, looking back at and into the future for sheltered housing through the eyes of two young friends as they age.
